Sid and Doris have decided that now would be a good time to go to all the places that you wouldn’t usually dream of visiting in peak tourist season. Will Sid and Doris be the only people there, or has everyone else got the same idea? Watch this blog for details!
We cannot remember sleeping at home for so many nights in a row while we have ‘stayed home, saved lives and protected the NHS’. We managed to travel at home by declaring for Belgium night with steak, chips, mayo, over-proof beer and Eddie Merckx on You Tube. We “went” to Normandy, Provence and Spain. One night we slept in the guest room just for a change of scene.
Once sailing was available Sid and Doris put into practice all the lessons they learned not competing on The Dash to the Onion Patch, the Newport to Bermuda yacht race, to create their very own Dash To The Vegetable Patch.
Sailing in the Solent we had a day of tuition and the very next day went foreign, overseas to The Isle of White. Like abroad with clotted cream ice cream. Anyway it is good to know container ships are on the move again.
Many plans were hatched but somehow we never left on the cycling Tour of England. Now we are readying the mighty Hermann – see separate post.
Sid has designed a wily route which smart Doris has turned into a spiffy map. If it all gets too difficult we will come home.
Another great adventure afoot, but, thankfully, not on foot…in fact not even pedaling. Sorry about the lack of sailing, but you may wish to imitate it by taking turns riding on the bonnet in your foulies, with and without rain. I do hope you brought a jigsaw puzzle of the Continent.
