In which Sid and Doris discover that you can never have too many Jolly Green Giants.
You may remember that yesterday’s route change turned three short driving days into two long ones. This gave us an unexpected and very welcome extra rest day chez Joe and Betka, and a chance to take some end-of-trip photos:
One of the JGG with Nereus, who entered our story in this post, and is now back at its home berth having come through the Chesapeake and Delaware canal.
One of our very own home-made traffic jam of TWO Ford Country Squires – Joe’s one is from 1974 which is two models later:
And a very nice one of Sid and Doris on their 32nd wedding anniversary (we belatedly remembered it was today):
Much of the day was devoted to car-wrestling and blog-wrestling, but at the end of the day we went to a boat auction in St Michaels. We all took the JGG – Sid and Doris had their first opportunity to sit on the back (or rather, middle) seat which we can now tell you is rather better sprung than the front one.
The boat auction was really just an excuse for a drive but it did give us the chance to spot this T shirt.
And we were spotted driving by Jenny, who also lives in Oxford! Hi Jenny!! “S” says Hi too, he was just getting some greasy paw marks off the inside of the JGG.
