The Comforts Of Home

When we were doing some damn’ fool adventure, probably involving sleeping on a damp floor in a draughty hut, Sid once remarked “You know the comforts of home?  They’re at home.”

We muse on this from time to time.

When we are trying to try large quantities of wet bike kit in a place where it definitely stands no chance of being dry by the morning.

When we tried “glamping” on the Knepp estate last autumn and found that due to the many Covid restrictions it was all Ping and no Glam.

And generally, when we find ourselves once again in accommodation which seems purpose-built for the smaller members of the human race.

Here we are on the good boat Lydia, 6’6″ wide and 56′ long, and today’s theme is Everything Is The Other Side Of Everything Else.  Or “excuse me, please”.  Or privately, “why is (s)he standing in the way AGAIN?”

Still, one has to make these sacrifices in our constant quest for exciting activities to keep you, our curious and only reader, entertained.  We hope you appreciate it.

We finish with a picture of the stove on Lydia, (because some of the comforts of home are actually with us) and the approved position for checking that the coals have actually caught fire.
