A conundrum

Here is a puzzle for you:

It is a baking hot day and Sid and Doris are flogging along a straight, flat, seemingly unending road into a stiff headwind.  This means that they have to stay sitting on the saddle while they pedal.

After a few hours both Sid and Doris’s arses start to hurt.

Doris maintains that her arse hurts more because it is large and wide so there is more of it to hurt.  In contrast Sid only has a little bony arse so he has less capacity for total pain.

Sid disagrees and says that his little bony arse has all the pain concentrated into one place, whereas Doris has the ability to spread it out, so he has a higher single point of pain intensity.

What do you think, boys and girls?  Who is right?  Or do you think that the real question should be: why can Sid and Doris not find a more pleasant way of passing their time?  Why didn’t they consider just getting the train from Sombor to Novi Sad and cutting out this whole section altogether?

It’s an Epic Mystery.

  1. Somewhere on the Med Coast is a couple as handsome as you two, and they are reclined on chaise lounges, covered in plush hotel towels, under a pergola, sipping recently refilled colorful drinks. Their books are ignored. Their minds wander, slowly. They are not contemplating (comparatively or otherwise) their arses, or headwinds. Perhaps dinner reservations, but perhaps not even that. Certainly not anything epic…
