Surely we won’t have to talk EVERY night?

We’ve loaded up the various gadgets with apps to give us an alternative to conversation.  After nearly 30 years of marriage there is no need to talk every single evening…

  • BorrowBox which is linked to our local lending library so that we can get and read books
  • Calibre and Calibre Companion to bring our existing huge pile of e-books with us (although I haven’t yet quite got Calibre Companion working, apparently it’s just a matter of RTFM so I have put the e-manual in the e-luggage)
  • Economist and other apps to keep up with the depressing waves of Brexit news
  • Blogger for writing the blog itself
  • iTunes for learning, Audacity for editing and MuseScore for writing barbershop music
  • Motorsport for keeping Sid fed with “car porn”.
I have also spent an unholy amount of time trying to get the photos from the two phones to appear on both the iPad and the Surface Go.  The Apple-Google-Microsoft wars are raging behind the scenes, with every app or piece of kit declaring that the other one is “unsafe” and doing everything they can to keep you in their own, tightly policed and scrutinisable environment.
Which reminded me of this T-shirt that I saw the other day.
